Alexandra Tyra is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Baylor Autonomic Function Laboratory of Dean Jason Carter, PhD. She received dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychological Sciences and Criminology/Criminal Justice from Northern Arizona University. She then went on to receive her Master of Arts and PhD in Psychology and Neuroscience from Baylor University.
Amidst her graduate studies, Alex also completed a Fulbright year in the United Kingdom, during which she received an additional MSc by Research in Sport, Exercise, and Rehabilitation Sciences. Alex's research examines how various psychosocial factors impact the known relationships between sleep, stress, and cardiovascular health, particularly through functioning of the autonomic nervous system.
