Incoming Students
Welcome to Baylor's MSMS Program!
Below are steps for incoming MSMS students to help you get settled in and ready for your first day of class. If you have any questions, please email us at msmsonline@baylor.edu.
1. Activate your Bear ID and e-mail and access your Baylor ID number.
-
Within twenty-four to forty-eight hours of the receipt of the seat deposit confirmation email, you should have received an email from Baylor IT with a security code. If you did not receive that email, please contact the Baylor IT Help Desk at 254.710.4357 helpdesk@baylor.edu. Make sure you have your Baylor ID number when you call or contact them. Once you receive your security code, you will be able activate your Bear ID and establish your password. Go to http://www.baylor.edu/bearid. To verify your identity, you will be prompted to enter your last name, which is case sensitive; your date of birth; and your Baylor ID number in the appropriate boxes. Click the NEXT button, and then follow the instructions. You can find more information about setting up your Bear ID here.
-
Your Bear ID and password will give you access to Baylor email. You can log into Baylor email at http://mail.baylor.edu. Although the Admissions Office will continue to send information to both your Baylor and personal email addresses until graduation, it is very important that you use your Baylor email address throughout your studies at Baylor. It is the email address that is used by the Cashier's office and all other administrative offices on campus.

3. Health Insurance
-
Baylor University requires all degree-seeking students enrolled in the Graduate School and Garland School of Social Work (including online students) to maintain health insurance. Students must either enroll in Baylor’s Student Health Insurance Plan or waive Baylor’s insurance by providing proof of alternative coverage. Students who take no action will be automatically enrolled in Baylor’s plan. Find more info here: https://www.baylor.edu/graduate/index.php?id=959184
-
Your first student bill will show an automatic insurance charge. Baylor University requires Health Insurance for graduate students enrolled in 3 or more credit hours, including all online graduate students, or those enrolled in at least one hour of a full-time equivalency course. To assist students to meet this requirement, Academic HealthPlans has been selected to administer the Student Health Insurance Plan underwritten by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Students are automatically enrolled, and charges will appear on your tuition bill unless you obtain a waiver before the close of the open enrollment period. See the AHP website for dates.
-
Students who have comparable health insurance coverage can waive out of this plan. See Graduate Student Health Insurance.
-
Students may use the Open Enrollment period to add spouses and children to their plan. See Graduate Student Health Insurance.
-
For university-wide insurance information please visit the Baylor Health Services Insurance page
4. Transcript
-
Send your final, official transcript(s) and test scores to Grad_Transcripts@baylor.edu.
-
If you were admitted before receiving your degree, you are required to send an official, final transcript showing your conferred degree and date awarded to Graduate Admissions by the first day of class or a hold will be placed on your registration for the following semester, and you may be asked to leave the program.
-
Please note that many Registrar Offices do not post degrees on transcripts until 2 weeks after graduation. Before ordering your transcript, please check with your institution's registrar's office to confirm when degrees will be posted.
-
If your transcript does not include degree and date conferred, please also include your diploma or degree certificate.
-
Paper transcripts can be mailed to: Baylor University Graduate Admissions, One Bear Place #97264, Waco TX 76798-7264.

If we already have your official transcripts showing all conferred degrees, thank you! You can proceed to the next step.
