Jacob Brewer, PhD, DPT, PT, NCS

Jacob Brewer has a passion for the latest online pedagogical synchronous and asynchronous methods to yield positive student-centric outcomes while implementing quality improvement metrics, developing and executing strategic Christian higher education mission focus, improving customer service and stakeholder satisfaction, and promoting a culture of integrity and human dignity for future compassionate Christian healthcare professionals and industry leaders.
Dr. Brewer joined Baylor Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation following an almost 20-year tenure at Hardin-Simmons University Doctor of Physical Therapy program ,where he served as Professor and Program Director. Prior to academia, he served as the Vice President of Rehabilitation Services at Hillcrest Baptist Health Systems (now Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest) in Waco where he administered all operations of physical and occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, audiology, as well as occupational and sports medicine physician and nurse services amidst several facilities.
As a Board-Certified Specialist in Neurologic PT (NCS), it is appropriate that among the many areas that Dr. Brewer teaches to graduate students is neuroscience and neuroanatomy. Jacob has lectured, presented, and taught courses on leadership and to a variety of industries as a consultant—as well as in the fields of neuroanatomy and clinical neurology for graduate medical programs throughout the country regarding his expertise. He enjoys ministering the Kingdom of God to the disability community as well as continues to maintain his board certification in neurology by providing PT consults, evaluations, and treatments. Dr. Brewer loves spending time with family, friends, and the Body of Christ in general.
